Frank St. John is chief operating officer (COO) for Lockheed Martin. He has held this role since June 2020 and is responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial performance of the corporation’s four major business areas, which generate more than $67 billion in annual sales. In addition, he oversees the Operations, Communications, Global Business Development & Strategy, and Enterprise Business & Digital Transformation organizations.

Prior to serving as COO, St. John led the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business area from 2019 to 2020 and the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) business area from 2018 to 2019. Additional roles held at MFC include executive vice president and deputy of programs, vice president of Tactical Missiles/Combat Maneuver Systems, and general manager for the MFC Orlando campus.

Dedicating his entire career to Lockheed Martin, St. John has earned a track record of driving efficiencies and strengthening culture to improve financial and program performance. His leadership philosophy is rooted in a mission-focused approach, guided by core values of ethics, inclusion, and excellence. He has championed several critical corporate-wide initiatives, including the pandemic response; a workplace flexibility campaign that resulted in industry-leading levels of employee retention; a culture revolution encouraging collaboration and innovation across business areas, products and platforms; and 1LMX, a digital transformation effort to modernize internal infrastructure for efficiency, agility and rapid delivery to customers.??

St. John graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s and master’s in electrical engineering. He is a member of the Air Force Association, Association of the United States Army, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and Surface Navy Association. He serves on the USO Board of Governors and the board of the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum. In 2021, the National Defense Industrial Association presented him with the William J. Perry Award recognizing his exceptional contributions to the advancement of precision strike systems.?
