Electronic Warfare, Deterrence and Protection

Electronic Warfare (EW) represents the ability to use the electromagnetic spectrum—signals such as radio, infrared, or radar—to sense, protect, and communicate.?At the same time, EW can distrupt, deny and degrade the adversaries' ability to use these signals.

Electronic Warfare Is Divided Into Three (3) Major Areas:

EW-EA

Electronic Attack

Disrupt, deny, degrade, destroy, or deceive
EW-EP

Electronic Protection

Preventing a receiver from being jammed or deceived
EW-ES

Electronic Support

Sensing of the electromagnetic spectrum

All-Domain Electronic Warfare

Explore how Lockheed Martin combines capable EW technology with robust platform integration.
EW-Sea

Surface Electronic Warfare

Lockheed Martin builds systems that help the U.S. Navy safely patrol and protect the seas. We deliver proven technologies and functional capabilities that provide real-time situational awareness, enabling the U.S. Navy to intercept signals that identify both imminent and potential threats. These countermeasure technologies use EW to protect vessels from anti-ship missile attacks.
EW-Land

Ground Electronic Warfare

As the battlespace requirements change, open architectures allow warfighters to act more quickly – meaning responding to the evolving threat environment is as simple as swapping out a card in the system and being able to do it at the tactical level. Lockheed Martin’s ground EW system designs conform to the DoD’s C5ISR/EW Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) and will for years to come.?
EW-Air

Airborne Electronic Warfare

Lockheed Martin’s knowledge of airborne protection extends well beyond platform development. We have fielded airborne electronic warfare systems, including electronic support measure (ESM), radar warning receiver (RWR), electronic intelligence, communications intelligence, and anti-jam GPS products.
EW-Cyber

Cyber Electronic Warfare

Lockheed Martin provides the full spectrum of offensive and defensive capabilities in the electromagnetic spectrum using cyber solutions and electronic warfare systems. Using cross-domain technologies and an open architecture design, we offer full mission support to dominate in a new era of integrated cyber warfare.
