Bringing New Skills to the Workforce

Retired Lockheed Martin Employee Now Trains Workers for Careers in Advanced Manufacturing

Addressing skills shortages often begins at the local level. At Lockheed Martin, business units across the United States are partnering with local community colleges, technical training programs and statewide career centers to skill the available workforce for critical jobs that need to be filled.

In Central Florida, Lockheed Martin is a strategic partner with the Valencia College Advanced Manufacturing Training Center to deliver hands-on manufacturing training and experience in multiple career tracks that include welding, quality assembly and machining. Retired Lockheed Martin employee Phil Conduff is an instructor at the Center teaching electrical board assembly and helping provide students the skills they need to apply for employment with Lockheed Martin, as well as other employers, upon program completion.
