Two U.S. F-22s and South Korean F-35As engaged in training over South Korea on May 16. The integrated training involved close-range combat maneuvering over the Republic of Korea’s (ROK) southern regions.

These F-22s, belonging to the 19th and 199th Expeditionary Fighter Squadrons stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii, had been stationed at Kadena Air Base in Japan since mid-April.

The F-22s are evaluating capabilities in the Indo-Pacific region. ACE, which involves small teams of Airmen and aircraft operating swiftly from remote bases, is considered a crucial aspect of the Air Force's strategic shift to counter major adversaries.

“F-22s and F-35s are regularly called upon to serve in key deterrence missions around the world,” said OJ Sanchez, vice president and general manager of the Integrated Fighter Group at Lockheed Martin. “Together, with their unrivaled 5th Generation advantages, they dominate the fight, even in highly contested environments. At Lockheed Martin, we are proud to support global, allied mission needs by ensuring these preeminent fighters are ready wherever and whenever they’re needed.”?
