The need to modernize training solutions and ensure preparedness for the threats of tomorrow is a common theme for military forces across the globe. Here are three ways we’re continuing our commitment to increase mission readiness for the future fight.
?

Open Architecture Systems

To be effective during joint all domain operations, soldiers need to train differently. They need to collaborate across forces and across defense systems to make split second decisions.

Deployable, open architecture training systems make it possible to connect platforms for increased realism.

The Warfighter Augmented Reality (WAR) Training System is a commercial-off-the-shelf training device for Joint Terminal Attack Controllers designed from the ground up on an open architecture. WAR overlays symbology and virtual entities on the real world. Computer-vision assisted head tracking algorithms ensure stable, correct placement of virtual entities. By applying augmented reality built on an open architecture, soldiers receive more realistic training that continuously evolves as their needs change.?

Improved and Accelerated Decision Making

With increased focus on the joint all domain environment, real-time decision support is needed for soldiers to respond to threats quickly and effectively. Data-driven training management methods help to overcome cognitive overload and ensure more accurate assessment of unit readiness.

Lockheed Martin is shaping these advancements, enhanced through investment in artificial intelligence to support cognitive decision support at the time of need to be better prepared to manage battlefield information and make quick, confident decisions. This is done through our understanding for information needing to be provided at the speed of relevance in order to overcome adversaries.

Investments like AI-integration to training aligns with efforts like the British Army’s Collective Training Transformation Programme, which ensures training is delivered faster and is available wherever it’s needed.

Strategic Sustainment

Predictive maintenance removes a single point of failure across logistics and enables a high velocity supply chain to have parts provided and ready when and where they are needed.

The U.S. Army’s Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations Maintenance Program (ATMP) predicts needs and maintains maximum operational awareness to make informed training decision. By using on-demand access to accurate, complete and timely data, this strategic sustainment solution aids in strengthening our forces. ATMP was on full display during the Arctic Warrior Training exercise earlier this year.

The future of land training relies on the ability to modernize and adapt to the fight of tomorrow while staying agile for the threats of today. By applying live, virtual and constructive training, soldiers stand ready for the mission, whenever and wherever they are called.??
