Based in Nova Scotia, Techsploration focuses on educational programming to young women and non-binary youth in Grades 9 through 12; helping them explore and understand the significance of math and science for their future careers in science, engineering, trades, and technology-related occupations.
Techsploration’s award-winning four-phase program is also designed to support their programming participants (Techsplorers) by providing guidance and mentorship as they explore a wide range of career options in fields where women are significantly underrepresented.
In 2001, Techsploration’s success enabled the program to be expanded to Newfoundland and Labrador. Recently, Techsploration also announced the launch of its National Expansion Pilot that began delivering educational programming in Ontario and Prince Edward Island.
At Lockheed Martin Canada we know that efforts to educate and inspire tomorrow’s scientists, engineers and mathematicians is mission critical in maintaining Canada’s innovation and technological advantage.
Our approach to STEM outreach and education embodies our values and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
We are proud to recognize and support Techsploration’s dedication to encourage equitable access to STEM education and career opportunities, and their tireless effort to empower young women and non-binary youth to be the next generation of innovators and explorers of science.
